Adopt
A Block, Inc.:
Restoring
Baltimore, Block by Block
From
the Heart of the Bishop
 |
Your
people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will
raise up the age-old foundations; you will be
called Repairer of the Broken Walls, Restorer
of Streets with Dwellings.
-Isaiah 58:12 |
Over
ten years ago the Lord gave us a vision of a ‘cinder
block.’ As
a person who had been in construction all my life,
I knew what the Lord was saying: we could take our
city back one block at a time. In construction it
takes a lot of people working together—each
one having a particular part to perform—to accomplish
the finished building.
Adopt-A-Block is very much like a construction team.
Each one is doing his part to build something that
seemed impossible; the church, the police, the community,
and the city officials are
all working together to see city blocks changed and
restored back to what they were originally intended
to be. We invite you to join our team and let’s
rebuild the “ruined cities” that Isaiah
52 says we can rebuild, together. God bless you!

local churches, city government, the Police Department,
local businesses, community associations, a diversity
of service and health agencies, and residents that work
together to bring restoration to our city—block
by block. Our goal is to effectively meet the varying
needs of the individual, the family, and their community
- spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically!
