Bishop
Bart Pierce serves as the Senior Pastor. Growing,
vibrant, and with an international/multi-racial expression,
Rock has a vision for what God is doing in the world
today. The church has a unique calling to reach
out to the lost and hurting. In addition, seeing
the next generation run after God is at the heart
of his ministry. His wife, Coralee, currently serves
as Pastoral Assistant to her husband.
Bishop
Pierce has pioneered and is president of several
compassion ministries. They include:
-
Adopt
A Block - a program focused on taking the city
of Baltimore back block by block.
-
Can Can Make a Difference - a program for the
impoverished that distributes food year-round
at no charge.
-
Nehemiah House - a shelter for homeless men which
gives a fresh start men who were formerly tormented
by lives of drugs, alcohol and crime.
-
The Hiding Place - a home which cares for pregnant
women and women in crisis situations.
Bishop
Pierce is the Co-Founder of Global Compassion Network,
which is made up of organizations from around the
world including Operation Blessing, Somebody Cares
International, World Relief, Operation Compassion
and many others. He also provides apostolic oversight
to churches in the Ukraine, Ghana, and Madagascar,
as well
as domestically here in the States.
In January of 1997, Rock City Church experienced
a mighty outpouring
of God's Presence. People came from around the world
to seek God's face and many experienced miraculous
healings, deliverances and renewed relationships
with the Lord. As a result, Bishop Pierce has had
many opportunities to form relationships with pastors
and leaders. He
has a passion for seeing the body of Christ unite
together both locally
and world-wide. He works to promote unity in the
city of Baltimore by fostering relationships with
area pastors and their congregations. He functions
as the president of Peace For The City, a coalition
of Baltimore metropolitan pastors that began in
1997. In October of 2002, he was instrumental in
heading up a Prayer Gathering at Camden Yards Stadium
called One-Won. It was a powerful display of unity
as more than 100 pastors joined together with their
congregations to pray for the city of Baltimore.
Currently,
Bishop Pierce is an active member of ICA (International
Coalition of Apostles) as well as the Apostolic
Council of Prophetic Elders (founded by Dr. Peter
Wagner and Cindy Jacobs). He served on the executive
board for the CallDC, a gathering of over 300,000
youth in September 2000. He was the National Youth
Coordinator for Washington For Jesus, 1980 and was
on the executive board of WFJ 1988 and 1996. He
has appeared numerous times on CBN and has spoken
in many churches and conferences throughout the
world.
Bishop
Pierce has authored a book titled, "Seeking
Our Brothers" which shares his heart for "the
ones that nobody wants" and gives practical
insight on how to start and maintain compassion
ministries. He is also a contributing author of
the books: "Hosting the Holy Spirit",
"Destiny of a Nation" and "Mary's
Prayers and Martha's Recipes".
